About the Show:
Based on the hit British programme Pop Idol, Idols was a television programme that aired on Mzansi Magic, a network in South Africa, and earlier on M-Net. The show served as a competition to select South Africa’s top young vocalist. It was declared in February 2023 that the competition’s nineteenth season would be its final one.
Thousands of eager artists from throughout South Africa tried out for the event in front of the judges. Sean Paul served as the presenter, and Mynie Grové, Deon Maas, and Taliep Petersen served as the judges.
On Mzansi Magic and Mzansi Wethu, the nineteenth and final season of Idols debuted on July 8, 2023, and concluded on November 4, 2023. Thabo Ndlovu was victorious in the season, with Princess MacDonald coming in second.

Tabure Thabo Bogopa Junior, a.k.a. JR, is a singer and entrepreneur from South Africa who was born on March 12, 1987. He regularly does English and Setswana versions of Motswako rap. In South African charts, he has two number-one pop hits and two number-one hip-hop hits.
In the South African province of the Free State, at Bloemfontein, Tabure was born on March 12, 1987. He was raised at his parent’s home in the Pretoria neighborhood of Attridgeville. South Africa’s Johannesburg is now home to him.
Thembi Seete:
Thembi Seete is a multi-media personality, model, musician, actress, and international actress from South Africa who was born on March 25, 1977. Her most well-known role was in the kwaito group Boom Shaka. She portrayed “Gladys” in the Gomora telenovela on Mzansi Magic.
She starred in the Netflix original series Kings of Johannesburg in 2020. She judged a single episode of the seventeenth season of Mzansi Magic’s singing competition, Idols South Africa, as a guest in 2021.
She operates the salon “Azuri” and works as a beautician in addition to acting. Seete’s appointment as a judge for season 18 of Idols South Africa was revealed in February 2022. She came back in 2023, the following year.
